In a past startup co-founded with Pamela Coker, Peter Culicover and I developed a concept for a Context Activated Memory Device (CAMD). In the design of the device, we tried to emulate human linguistic information processing. In particular, it incorporated memory constraints for short term memory (STM), relying on STM concepts from experimental psychology.

This site attempts to highlight the ongoing usefulness of George Miller's framework for the first stage, if not the most important stage, of human multi-stage memory.
